32 Weeks and Littleton Baby Shower

I am officially in the 32nd week of pregnancy! 8 more weeks to go!
My parents were in town over the weekend, and a baby shower was thrown for me on Sunday. We held it at my house, and about 25 people were here. We got a lot of nice gifts, so excited about all the cute baby stuff! Here are some pictures.

Everyone had to cut a string to guess how big my belly was... Matt's cousin Jennifer won by being EXACT!

It was great to see everyone at the shower, and Matt and I are so grateful for all the great gifts we received for our little boy!

I have been feeling the baby roll around and can almost distinguish his different body parts. So cool! I got the best massage ever last Wednesday, and got to lay on my stomach on a prenatal massage bed for an hour, on my stomach! I was definitely amazing and much needed.

I have another check-up on Thursday. If there's no big news, I'll probably wait to post another blog in a couple weeks.

3 hour glucose test...

My 30 week appointment and 3 hour glucose tolerance test was on Thursday, Feb 12.
Even though I get super quesy and lightheaded from getting my blood drawn, I survived getting poked 4 times in that 3 hours. I think the worst part was having to fast from 7:30 the night before until about 11:30am the next day.

We met with the doctor and I bombarded her with my first list of 20 questions.
I've been having this burning, irritating pain in my really low abdomen, and after she felt around a little, she said that the baby's head was super low and pushing on tons of nerves, making it hurt. Silly boy... she told me a few yoga positions to do to try to move the boy up and ease some of my discomfort.

I gained 2 pounds in 2 1/2 weeks, which is good since they say about 1 pound a week at this point. So... 22 pounds total so far.

She also recommended I get a breastfeeding BOOK to help me out... however, I have 2 other books I've been reading and don't really have time for a 3rd. I really don't know how necessary this is since we have the internet. But, who knows, I could regret not reading a novel about it. We'll see....

A nurse called last night with the test results from my glucose test... and they are normal!!! So, no special diabetic diet for me! (other than the no feta cheese, no lunch meat, no alfalfa sprouts, no mahi mahi, no sushi, hardly any caffeine, no alcohol, etc)
YAY!!!

My next appointment is Wed. Feb 25, normal checkup.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Nursery

Here are some pictures of the nursery so far.

We got the crib, sheet set, mobile from our good friend Steve. Unfortunately, I can't find the 3 other little animals that hang on the mobile! I'm going to have to figure out something!

I made the curtains and valance.
Also, the closet doors are still missing from the right side of the picture below.

29 weeks, 4 days

Holy crap!! Almost 7 1/2 months along... this time HAS been flying, but I have a feeling time will slow down for me pretty soon. I already am so anxious to see what the little guy will look like! I feel huge, not sure if I look huge yet... but I've been told I look pretty small for being just over 7 months. I still feel fat.

So, my last doctor's appointment was last Tuesday where they checked my blood sugar to check for gestational diabetes. My levels were ONE point over what they like to see, so I have to go back again for another test called the Glucose Tolerance Test.

I have to fast for 12 hours before my appointment (which is 7:30am next Thursday Feb 12), and they draw my blood right when I get there. Then I have to drink this sugary liquid, and they draw my blood again in an hour... then again in another hour, then one more time in another hour. (4 times!!) The results from this test are a lot more accurate and will tell whether or not I have gestational diabetes (which I'm sure I'll be fine because they didn't have me fast before the last test).

During the February 12th appointment, I will also have my next checkup, where I will get measured, weighed, and we'll hear the baby's heart beat. I will have another appointment 2 weeks after that (at around 32 weeks), then another at 34 weeks, then every week from there I think.

I feel little Thompson move all the time, lots of rolling around and he likes to hang out on the right side of my belly. Lately, I've been feeling him a lot lower, so he pushes a lot on my bladder. You can ALMOST tell which body parts are where when he moves!

Some more belly pictures are posted below. Notice I am outside on my deck because it was 70 degrees here today!!!! SO NICE! :)
I have a "Mom" heart temporary tattoo on my stomach!
The bare belly pic on the bottom looks HUGE... not sure if it was the angle or how I really look...
